At T=0, each Ising spin instantly aligns with its local majority. This creates fascinating coarsening dynamics: domains grow, stripes emerge, and the system can freeze into metastable states — never reaching the ground state.
At zero temperature, a spin flips only if it reduces energy (more neighbors disagree). Ties are broken randomly. Starting from random initial conditions, this 2D process exhibits anomalous coarsening and may freeze in ~1/3 of cases.
