In the Vicsek model each particle aligns with neighbors within radius r plus angular noise η. Above a critical noise η_c(ρ), the ordered flock (φ→1) undergoes a discontinuous transition to a disordered gas (φ→0) — an absorbing-state phase transition in the universality class of active matter.
