Thouless Topological Pump
Quantized charge transport via adiabatic cycling — a 1D analogue of IQHE
The Thouless pump is a 1D tight-binding model with adiabatically cycled parameters. Each full cycle pumps exactly C₁ electrons per band (Chern number of the Berry curvature over the parameter-k torus). This integer quantization is topological — robust to disorder. The Rice-Mele model: H = Σ [t₁c†_{A,j}c_{B,j} + t₂c†_{B,j}c_{A,j+1} + δ(n_{A,j}−n_{B,j})].
