Topological Kondo & Majorana Hybridization

Energy spectrum of a Kitaev chain with tunnel-coupled Majorana end states

The Kitaev chain model supports a topological phase (|μ| < 2t) with zero-energy Majorana bound states at its ends. When two Majorana modes hybridize (overlap with energy ε_M), the zero-mode splits. The Kondo effect from a quantum dot coupled to these Majoranas produces a non-Fermi-liquid fixed point. The phase boundary at |μ| = 2t separates trivial and topological phases.
