Topological Kondo Insulator — SmB₆-like Surface States

TKI Physics: At low T below Kondo temp T_K, f-electrons hybridize with conduction band forming heavy quasiparticles. The hybridization gap Δ∼V²/D is tiny (meV scale).

SmB₆: Band inversion at X-points from d-f hybridization creates Z₂ topological invariant → metallic surface states inside the bulk gap.

Signatures: Residual conductance plateau at T→0, ARPES in-gap surface states, de Haas-van Alphen from surface.
