Penrose tilings are aperiodic — they tile the plane without repeating. Built by inflating/deflating two rhombus types (fat and thin) via the golden ratio φ = (1+√5)/2.
The ratio fat/thin → φ as levels → ∞. No translational symmetry, but 5-fold rotational symmetry.
