d-Wave Gap Anisotropy & Fermi Arcs

In cuprate superconductors, the d-wave gap Δ(k) = Δ₀(cos k_x − cos k_y) vanishes at four nodal points. The density of states shows a characteristic V-shape, and the Fermi surface develops Bogoliubov arcs connecting the nodes.
