A double-well potential models glacial-interglacial cycles. Weak periodic forcing (Milankovitch orbital cycles ~100 kyr) cannot alone cause transitions — but adding the right level of climate noise enables resonant switching. Benzi et al. (1982) proposed SR as the mechanism.
