About: In Granovetter's threshold model (1978), each agent adopts a behavior when the fraction of active neighbors exceeds their personal threshold θᵢ ~ Uniform(θ−σ, θ+σ). Small seeds can trigger global cascades if the threshold distribution generates a "vulnerability window." Watts (2002) showed that sparse networks with heterogeneous thresholds are most susceptible. The model explains everything from riots to technology adoption to financial contagion.
