Oregonator Reaction-Diffusion

Spiral waves from the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction model

Step: 0 f = 1.40 ε = 0.10
About: The Oregonator is a simplified model of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical oscillator. Two diffusing species U and W interact via nonlinear kinetics, producing self-organizing spiral waves. The parameter f controls stoichiometry: lower f produces denser spirals. These patterns appear in cardiac tissue, slime molds, and other excitable media.
