Quantum Spin Liquid: Frustrated Triangular Lattice

On a triangular antiferromagnet, geometric frustration prevents simultaneous satisfaction of all antiferromagnetic bonds — you cannot color a triangle with two colors and have all neighbors differ. This frustration suppresses classical ordering, and quantum fluctuations can stabilize a quantum spin liquid: a highly entangled state with no magnetic order, fractionalized spinon excitations, and long-range entanglement.
