Random point process → Voronoi cells → universal statistics
Poisson-Voronoi tessellations arise whenever events occur uniformly at random (e.g. crystal nucleation, cell biology, urban geography). Universal statistics: ⟨sides⟩ = 6 (Euler), area distribution ~ Gamma(α≈3.6), Lewis's law (area ∝ sides). The fraction of hexagons peaks around 30%, with virtually no cells of fewer than 3 or more than 10 sides.
