Phase Locking: Driven Oscillator

A nonlinear oscillator at natural frequency ω₀ driven by a periodic force at frequency ω. Phase locking occurs when the drive pulls the oscillator into synchrony. The lock-in range grows with coupling strength. The phase portrait shows limit cycles and how phase difference evolves.

Oscillator Parameters

Adler equation: dφ/dt = Δω − ε·sin(φ)
Lock-in range: |Δω| < ε
Detuning Δω = ω − ω₀: 0.15
