Aperiodic P3 rhombus tiling by substitution — quasicrystal structure
P3 Penrose tiling uses thick (36°/144°) and thin (72°/108°) rhombi. Under deflation, each thick tile becomes 1 thick + 1 thin, and each thin tile becomes 1 thick + 2 thin. The ratio of thick:thin tiles approaches φ² (golden ratio squared) as level → ∞. The tiling is quasiperiodic — never repeating, but showing 5-fold symmetry locally everywhere.
