Pendulum Clock Escapement

Animated anchor escapement — converting pendulum oscillation into regulated wheel rotation

Ticks: 0
The anchor (recoil) escapement was invented c. 1657 by Huygens. The pendulum controls the escape wheel via the anchor pallet. Each half-swing releases exactly one tooth, injecting a small energy pulse to maintain oscillation. Period T = 2π√(L/g) — pendulum length sets the beat. The "tick" releases a tooth; "tock" releases the next.
