Attraction matrix (click to toggle +/-). Row = particle type, Col = target type.
Each colored species attracts or repels other species according to an interaction matrix. Despite purely local rules, the system generates emergent structures: membranes, cells, predator-prey spirals, and self-organizing crystals. The Particle Life model was popularized by Jeffery Ventrella and shows how life-like behavior can arise from very simple physics.
