Oscillator Death — Amplitude Quench

Coupling-induced amplitude death in Stuart-Landau oscillators

Two Stuart-Landau oscillators: ż₁ = (1+iω₁−|z₁|²)z₁ + K(z₂−z₁), ż₂ = (1+iω₂−|z₂|²)z₂ + K(z₁−z₂). For large coupling K and frequency mismatch Δω = ω₂−ω₁, the system transitions from oscillation to a fixed point — amplitude death. The phase diagram shows the death region (gray) in K–Δω space. Time delay τ can expand or shrink the death region. Current parameter shown as red dot on phase diagram.
