Single-degree-of-freedom fold — one parameter collapses the entire sheet
The Miura-ori fold (Miura 1970) has a single degree of freedom — pulling one corner unfolds the entire sheet simultaneously.
Used in solar panel deployment for spacecraft, and studied for its negative Poisson's ratio (pulling in x also expands in y).
