Scale-free networks (Barabási-Albert) have hubs with high degree. Targeted hub-removal causes rapid collapse (giant component shrinks fast), while random attacks are far less effective — the network remains connected until ~half the nodes are removed. This explains internet robustness and biological network fragility.
