Magnon-Polariton — Strong Coupling in Cavity Magnetics

When a ferromagnetic resonance (magnon mode) is placed inside a microwave cavity, the magnon and cavity photon hybridize to form magnon-polaritons. In the strong-coupling regime the coupling g exceeds both decay rates, causing a characteristic avoided crossing (vacuum Rabi splitting) in the transmission spectrum as the magnetic field is tuned through resonance.
