The Kuramoto model: dθ_i/dt = ω_i + (K/N)Σ_j sin(θ_j−θ_i−α). Frustration α≠0 creates a phase lag, allowing steady partially-synchronized states. At α=π/2 (π/2≈1.57), coupling becomes repulsive. K_c = 2σ/√(1−α²/…) sets synchronization onset.
