Kitaev's exactly solvable model (2006) on a honeycomb lattice has three bond types (x,y,z) with couplings J_x, J_y, J_z. It hosts a Z₂ gauge field and free Majorana fermions. Tune couplings to explore gapped (A) and gapless (B) phases with non-Abelian anyons.
