Jarzynski Equality — Nonequilibrium Free Energy

The Jarzynski equality ⟨e^(−βW)⟩ = e^(−βΔF) allows exact free energy differences to be computed from irreversible work trajectories. Even though individual processes dissipate energy, the exponential average over many runs recovers the equilibrium quantity exactly.
