How beliefs propagate through social networks
An information cascade occurs when individuals ignore their private signals and follow the crowd. In threshold models (Granovetter 1978), each agent adopts a behavior when enough neighbors have done so. Small changes in network connectivity or threshold can tip a system from few adopters to global cascade. Highly connected "hub" nodes (shown larger) disproportionately influence cascade outcomes.
