Hyperuniform Point Processes — Structure Factor

A point process is hyperuniform if density fluctuations are anomalously suppressed at large scales: S(k)→0 as k→0. This is intermediate between random (S(0)=const) and crystalline (S=Dirac deltas). Hyperuniformity appears in jammed packings, quantum ground states, avian photoreceptors, and number-theoretic sequences like primes.
