Golden ratio phyllotaxis — nature's packing optimum
The golden angle (≈137.508°) is 360°/φ². Plants use this divergence angle between successive leaves or seeds to achieve optimal packing with no alignment gaps — a beautiful consequence of φ = (1+√5)/2 being maximally irrational.
