Epidemic Threshold — Heterogeneous Mean-Field

On scale-free networks (P(k)∝k⁻γ), the epidemic threshold β_c = ⟨k⟩/⟨k²⟩ → 0 as network size N→∞ due to diverging degree variance. HMF theory tracks infected fraction ρ_k(t) for each degree class k separately.
