DMFT — Kondo Resonance & Mott Transition

Dynamical Mean-Field Theory maps the Hubbard model onto a self-consistent Anderson impurity problem. As the Hubbard U increases, the Kondo quasiparticle peak narrows and eventually vanishes, driving a Mott metal-insulator transition.

Parameters

Metal
DMFT self-consistency:
Σ(ω) from impurity solver →
G_latt(k,ω) via k-sum →
G_loc(ω) = Weiss field →
repeat until convergence.

Kondo peak Z ≈ (1−∂ReΣ/∂ω)⁻¹
Z→0 signals Mott transition.
