Dielectric Breakdown & DLA
Diffusion-limited aggregation — fractal growth from random walkers
Particles: 1
Max radius: 0
Fractal D ≈ —
DLA grows when random walkers stick on contact with the aggregate. Reducing sticking probability allows walkers to probe deeper, yielding denser (less fractal) structures. The fractal dimension of DLA in 2D is D ≈ 1.71. Dielectric breakdown follows the same statistics — lightning, Lichtenberg figures, and mineral dendrites all exhibit DLA-like morphology.
