ZND Detonation Model

The Zel'dovich-von Neumann-Döring (ZND) model describes detonations: a lead shock compresses the unreacted gas to the von Neumann spike, followed by a reaction zone ending at the Chapman-Jouguet (CJ) point. The CJ condition sets detonation velocity D_CJ = √(2(γ²-1)Q) for heat release Q.
