Contact Process — Directed Percolation

The contact process is the canonical model of the directed percolation universality class. Each active site spreads with rate λ and dies with rate 1. At the critical rate λ_c ≈ 3.298, the system undergoes a continuous absorbing-state phase transition with critical exponents β ≈ 0.277, ν⊥ ≈ 1.097.
