Contact Process — Absorbing State Transition

Directed percolation universality class: ρ ~ (λ−λ_c)^β, β ≈ 0.276

Active sites: 0 | t = 0
The contact process is the prototypical model for an absorbing-state phase transition. Below the critical infection rate λ_c, the system inevitably reaches the absorbing (all-empty) state. Above λ_c, an active phase with finite density survives. The critical point belongs to the directed percolation universality class with exponent β ≈ 0.276 in 1+1D.
