Complex Contagion — Social Reinforcement & Threshold Cascade

Unlike simple contagion (one contact suffices), complex contagion requires multiple exposures before adoption — social reinforcement. On a network, each node adopts if fraction of neighbors ≥ threshold θ. This creates discontinuous phase transitions, vulnerable clusters, and cascade windows fundamentally different from epidemic spreading.
