A ring of N Kuramoto oscillators with nonlocal coupling kernel G(x)=exp(-κ|x|). Chimera states spontaneously break symmetry: part of the ring synchronizes while the rest remains incoherent. Discovered by Kuramoto & Battogtokh (2002).
