Grand Canonical Ensemble — Langmuir Adsorption Isotherm

In the grand canonical ensemble, surface sites exchange particles with a reservoir at chemical potential μ. The Langmuir isotherm θ = z/(1+z) where z = exp(βμ) is the fugacity. BET multilayer and competitive adsorption are shown.
