Cell Polarization — Reaction–Diffusion (Turing)

Cell polarity arises via local excitation / global inhibition (LEGI). An activator (Cdc42/Rac) self-amplifies and diffuses slowly; an inhibitor diffuses rapidly and suppresses activator globally. This Turing instability spontaneously breaks symmetry to create a single dominant pole.
