The Brusselator is a theoretical model for an autocatalytic chemical reaction: A→U, B+U→V+D, 2U+V→3U, U→E. When B > 1+A², the homogeneous steady state loses stability via a Hopf bifurcation, generating oscillations. With diffusion, Turing instability creates spatial patterns.
