Bose-Einstein Condensate

Quantum Phase Transition — Many-Body Ground State

Below a critical temperature Tc, a gas of bosons undergoes a phase transition where a macroscopic fraction condenses into the single lowest-energy quantum state. The condensate fraction is N0/N = 1 − (T/Tc)3 for a 3D ideal Bose gas. Watch particles collapse into a coherent quantum cloud as temperature drops.
