Stuart-Landau oscillators: oscillation death when coupling exceeds threshold

Two Stuart-Landau oscillators ż₁ = (1+iω₁-|z₁|²)z₁ + ε(z₂-z₁) undergo amplitude death (both go to z=0) when coupling ε exceeds a critical value depending on frequency detuning Δω. A time delay τ can revive oscillations or create a "death island" in (ε, Δω) parameter space (Ramana Reddy 1998). The bifurcation is a Hopf bifurcation in reverse.
