Active Brownian Particles — Motility-Induced Phase Separation (MIPS)

Péclet: Pe = — Packing: φ = — Dr = — Clusters: — Phase: —
Active Brownian particles self-propel with speed v₀ and undergo rotational diffusion (tumbling). At high Péclet number Pe = v₀/Drσ, particles slow down in crowded regions → positive feedback → motility-induced phase separation (MIPS). Dense clusters form from purely repulsive interactions!
