Actin Treadmilling & Molecular Motors

Actin filaments polymerize at the barbed (+) end and depolymerize at the pointed (−) end. ATP-actin adds faster; ADP-actin dissociates faster. Net flux (treadmilling) drives cell motility. Myosin motors walk toward the barbed end, generating force.
